And the winner is… the dress!

The Oscar's are our most prestigious recognition of a film actor's talent, and of course, it's an honor just to be nominated- but as every Ambiance girl knows, when it comes down to it, it's ALL ABOUT THE DRESS. In anticipation of the 86th Annual Academy Awards ceremony tonight, and all the eye-candy fashion that will be on display, we're taking a walk down red carpet lane… every best actress winner's dress from 1929-2013.  Who wore your favorite?

I'm craving all-things Spring and floral in this stormy, grey weather- so I'm especially loving Olivia De Havilland's stunning appliqué floral frock, circa 1947, and Elizabeth Taylor's (both by Unknown designers), in 1961.

And while it's not my taste, I absolutely love the drama and bravery of Cher (in Bob Mackie) in 1988 and Halle Berry (in Ellie Saab) in 2002.

Barbra Streisand (in Arnold Scassi) in 1969, is one of my all-time favorites- and she wasn't even wearing a dress! Sparkles, Peter Pan collar, huge bow, and bell bottoms?! GIMME!
